Levels of Difficulty

Numerical categories ranging from 1 (easiest) to 5 (most challenging) indicate the level of difficulty for each activity. Please note these are guesstimates made at the time of planning and subject to minor changes based on current conditions. 
1=Accessible -Accessible to people with walking disabilities
2=Easy - Easy hike under one mile in length on mostly level terrain
3=Average – Average hike up to three miles in length, possibly with some small hills or brief time off trail
4=Challenging - Steeper terrain, long hike three to five miles in length, extensive time off trail, 5=Extreme - Extreme conditions such as mostly off-trail, very steep, difficult paddling, or a hike more than five miles in length.
